An overview of recent developments from the Laboratory of Organometallic and Medicinal Chemistry at the EPFL in biphasic catalysis, involving aqueous solutions and ionic liquids, and in CO2 reduction is presented. Progress in the use of ionic liquids, either by catalyst modification or by the design of task-specific ionic liquids is described. The application of high pressure methods to provide fundamental data and mechanistic insights into reactions and processes in these solvents is also described.Downloads
