Arguments for the introduction of master programs at the Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) are presented. The concept of a consecutive Bologna master program for Chemistry and Life Sciences currently elaborated by members of the concerned Swiss UAS is briefly described. Within this concept the Master Research Units (MRU) of the participating UAS will play a key role. They will host and coach the students for their master theses. The College of Engineering and Architecture of Fribourg is positioning itself within the spectrum of MRUs by focusing on chemical process development and production.Downloads
