Test and measurement methods, particularly electrochemical methods, applicable to fuel cell technology are reviewed. The difficulties of application of diagnostic tools and interpretation of results are highlighted. Specific requirements of the different fuel cell types, both high and low temperature variants, are dealt with. Finally, recently developed in situ imaging methods and their diagnostic significance are presented.Downloads
