Abstract

This contribution presents some applications developed in our laboratory of multidimensional (heart-cut) gas chromatography (MDGC) applied to the analysis of complex mixtures of pollutants in environmental samples. Practical aspects of this technique as well as qualitative and quantitative examples are discussed. Determination of trace levels of pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) with MDGC-ECD/ECD and MDGC-ECD/MS in fish, mussels, or sewage sludge is presented.
