Analytical chemistry has always played an important role in agricultural research, but its objectives and contributions have changed over time. In this paper a description of the historical development is given. Particularities of agricultural analytical chemistry are characterised and the currently used methods for inorganic and organic trace analysis as well as examples of their applications are reported.Downloads
