The state of the art in industrial process analysis is illustrated with two examples. Process optimization with the help of infrared and Raman spectroscopy was carried out for the hydrogenation of 1-chloro-2-nitrobenzene. Process control helped to avoid the formation of side products in the hydrogenation of a hydrazone.Downloads
