The quantitation of nucleic acids and protein are measurements common to many applications in basic science and clinical research. Several different assays for either total protein or nucleic acids that can be performed in microplates are described. In addition, the fundamental differences between conventional tube-based instrumentation and microplate readers and how these differences relate to the assays are discussed.Downloads
