Mineral Efflorescence on Fair-Faced Masonry

Abstract

Buildings are exposed to climatic stress. Fair-faced masonry exposed to peltin rain may be damaged by efflorescence. The most frequent types of mineral efflorescence in modern fair-faced masonry are described with typical examples. Experiences with water-repellent treatments are reported.
