Aminopeptidase- and amidase-based methods for the production of enantiomerically pure amino acids, intermediates for pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals, are discussed. Furthermore, enzymatic syntheses of the dipeptide sweetener aspartame and semisynthetic antibiotics (such as ampicillin, amoxicillin, cephalexin, and cefadroxil) are highlighted.Downloads
