Abstract

Large-scale synthesis of the new saccharin-derived N-fluorosultam 1 is described, starting from readily available saccharin 2. A newly designed fluorination apparatus, which allows the preparation of 100-g quantities of 1 at atmospheric pressure, is discussed in detail.
