Neuere Entwicklungen auf dem Gebiet der Vernetzung von Elastomeren

Abstract

The introduction states the importance of crosslinked polymers in the realms of plastics and rubbers generally. Then the following areas are treated:

- Sulfur crosslinking. Here, novel results on model vulcanization are reported
- Telechelics as liquid starting material for filled polyurethanes
- Various new crosslinking reactions which function via double bond attack on the polymer chains
- Shear-sensitive prevulcanization of SBR

The importance of the thermal stability of elastomeric networks is discussed with respect to the synthesis of temperature-stable systems. On the other hand 3 examples are quoted for possibilities and problems in the field of reversible crosslinking.
