Abstract

The adsorption of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Ag(I), Cd(II) and Pb(II) aquo ions, and of PdenCl2, on the surface of MoS2 is studied through the photo-electron spectra. If MoS2 has been immersed in pure or alkaline water, a mono-molecular oxide layer is formed, which seems to attach at least cobalt, nickel and lead.
