Abstract

The potential evolution of bis-(chloromethyl)-ether during the application of 1,3-bis-hydroxymethyl-4,5-dihydroxyimidazolidone-2 onto cotton textiles was studied on a laboratory scale under carefully controlled conditions. The presence of bis-(chloromethyl)-ether could not be detected at any time during the application. The detection limit of the experiments was 0.1 ppb.
