Abstract

In this paper the activities of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Refrigeration during the last ten years are summarized. Investigations on droplet-behaviour, hold-up determination and masstransfer in pulsed packed columns are followed by those concerning the hydrodynamic in spray-columns. 

Further work was done on extraction columns with rotating elements. Correlations for calculating the mean drop-size, the hold-up and the influence of backmixing were worked out.
