Abstract

In the title reaction, at low pCO (5 at), rapid isomerisation of the substrate occurs and a random distribution of deuterium in the reaction products has been found. At 100 at pCO,  about 2/3 of n-hexanal arises from formylation at position 1 and 1/3 from formylation at position 5.
