One of the main tasks of industrial polymer research is to verify physical models via directed synthesis using common monomers. Recent advances in this direction are described in the area of copolymerization (alternating copolymers, random copolymers, graft copolymers, and block copolymers) and in the area of multiphase polymer systems.
