Abstract

The acid dissociation constant of (C2H5)3SiOH in aqueous solution was evaluated with the aid of a distribution method using CCl4 and an aqueous phase of constant ionic strength as solvents. The experimental results led to a value of pKa = 13.63 (± 0.07) (25 °C, I = 1M Na[ClO4]).
