Abstract

A new technique of thin-layer chromatography (TLC) named 3-Chamber-TLC is described. A specially constructed apparatus allows increasing the separation efficiency by increasing the number of theoretical plates per unit of time. Separations can be achieved in up to a tenth of time required in normal TLC. Therefore the new technique is an ideal method for quick separations as well as for handling difficult separation-systems requiring a great number of theoretical plates.
