By the use of gel filtration combined with reversed osmosis for water supply an efficient system for removal of ethanol from albumin solutions was obtained. The method is very economical since it does not require energy for freezing, evaporation or sublimation. It is well suited to automation for large-scale production of albumin solution for clinical use. The product is a clear, easily-filtered salt-poor albumin solution.
